Early Life and Education
Emiru, who is 28 years old, was born on January 3, 1998, in Wichita, Kansas. She grew up with her parents, Gregory Schunk and Pin Schunk, alongside her brother, Nicolas Schunk.
Her father is of German background while her mother is Chinese, giving her a mixed Chinese-German family heritage.
She attended high school in Wichita and became increasingly interested in computers, video games, and online communities during her teenage years.
Rather than following a conventional university path after completing high school, she began developing her online career through gaming content.
She started streaming League of Legends while still young and gradually turned her interest in gaming into a full-time career.
Personal Life
Emiru is unmarried, has no children, and is currently single. She previously had a relationship with fellow streamer Matthew Rinaudo, better known as Mizkif.
Their relationship began in the early 2020s and ended before Emiru publicly discussed their relationship and allegations concerning their time together in 2025.
Court records confirm that Rinaudo later filed a federal lawsuit naming Schunk and several OTK-related parties. The case remained active in 2026.
Rinaudo has disputed the serious allegations made against him. Since that relationship ended, Emiru has remained focused on her streaming career, cosplay work, business activities, and content creation.
Career
Emiru began creating online content while she was still in high school, initially building her audience through League of Legends streams.
Her gaming ability helped her attract viewers on Twitch, while her growing interest in cosplay gave her content another major direction. Over time, she moved beyond League of Legends into variety streaming, reactions, and character-based cosplay.
In 2020, Emiru joined Cloud9 as a content creator. She remained with the esports organization until 2022, when she moved to One True King. She later became one of OTK’s owners, giving her a business role in addition to her work as a streamer and creator.
Her work expanded into podcasting and collaborative entertainment through projects such as Steak and Eggs. She also became increasingly recognized for elaborate cosplay presentations and gaming-related appearances. In August 2025, she joined Red Bull as an athlete while continuing her involvement with OTK.
In 2025, Emiru’s career also included major convention and gaming appearances. She continued producing Twitch and YouTube content while developing her cosplay work and commercial partnerships. In December of that year, Forbes selected her for its 30 Under 30 Games 2026 list.

Emiru has an estimated net worth of $3 million.
Her income comes from Twitch streaming, YouTube content, sponsorships, brand partnerships, cosplay-related activities, and her business interests connected with One True King.
Controversy
Emiru became involved in major controversies in 2025. In October, she publicly discussed allegations concerning her former relationship with Mizkif, including allegations of unwanted physical contact, emotional abuse, stalking, and sexual assault.
Mizkif denied the more serious allegations and disputed aspects of her account. He subsequently filed a federal lawsuit against Emiru and other defendants, alleging defamation and related claims. Court records show that the case was still being litigated in 2026.
Emiru was also involved in a separate incident at TwitchCon San Diego in October 2025, when an attendee approached her during a meet-and-greet and attempted to kiss her without her consent.
Her personal security intervened, and Emiru later criticized Twitch’s handling of the incident. Twitch gave its own account of the response, while Emiru disputed parts of that account.
